On Tuesday 28th April 2026, the Bexley Wing Atrium at the Leeds Cancer Centre became the setting for a remarkable show of determination, community spirit, and celebration of life.
Our team took on the challenge of static cycling the full 108-mile round trip distance from Leeds to Sheffield — the host city of the 2026 British Transplant Games. Throughout the day, staff, patients, families, and supporters stopped to cheer us on, donate, and learn more about what the Games mean to transplant recipients and their loved ones.
The fundraiser was organised to help members of the adult transplant team and their families attend the British Transplant Games in Sheffield from 5th–9th August 2026. More than just a sporting event, the Games celebrate resilience, recovery, friendship, and the extraordinary gift of life made possible through organ donation.
By the end of the challenge, an incredible £729.28 had been raised. Every contribution helped support transplant recipients in taking part in an event that represents not only athletic achievement, but also a second chance at life.
A huge thank you went to everyone who donated, encouraged, and supported the challenge throughout the day. The generosity shown reflected exactly what the transplant community is all about — people coming together to support one another and celebrate how far transplant recipients can go.
